We are so excited it finally snowed! I thought it would be fun for the kiddos to make snow ice cream. We went and collected clean snow from outside and brought it in. We tasted the snow plain and talked about what it looked like, tasted like, etc. We then mixed all of the ingredients together and made ice cream. At first they were not too sure about it but once they tried it they loved it! Below is the recipe we used. Hopefully we can get some more snow so you can try it at home. Snow Ice Cream 4 cups snow 1 cup milk 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla mix and enjoy!

Hello! Its been a little bit since I've posted on here. I hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! We have been very busy in the classroom learning about all things winter. For the next two weeks we are going to talk about penguins, the kids in the class were interested in them and so we decided to dig a little deeper and learn a little more about them. We are going to learn about where they are from, how they communicate, and so much more. We are also going to do some fun science projects in the next couple of weeks, one of them including making ice-cream in a bag. Please remember that if it is above 25 degrees with the windchill and not wet we will be going outside to play. Please send your child to school in weather appropriate clothing. Also, Please check your child's notebook and folder daily, I write in their notebooks daily to let you know what they did during the day. I also send notes home and some of their work they did at school. :) Below are a list of events and things in the area that you can do with your families! |
